When an new (new to us) Austin Healey comes in for a restoration, we hope for the best. Exactly how our clients feel too. But this one, the body, frame, engine, and suspension are removed its time to face the task at hand. The image on the left shows what were getting into. When a client says save her, we're happy to bring this bit of British history, this Austin Healey, back from the brink.
These images illustrates how thorough our inspections have to be in order to seek out all rust and worn areas.
You get the idea, there is a lot of work to do to bring this frame back to its former glory.

Here we see the frame outside and about to be prepped for some metal work.
Inspection of this Austin Healey continues even at this stage. The sun really makes it very easy to see what we need to do.
At this point the metal will be cleaned in preparation for repair and prime.
The second image shows the task of getting the down to the metal.
Some parts have already have started to be replaced and this process will continue until we can't see any more rust and the metal is ready for a primer coat.

In the trunk lid, these pieces had to be removed due to their rusty nature. Sometimes parts need to be removed in order to repaired or be replaced.
